When the fine craftsmanship of three renowned workshops comes together, the result is something precious and unique. And tuneful, too: It is the Large Wall Clock from Wendt & Kühn with an integrated musical movement. Using sophisticated mechanics and the very highest level of precision, clock makers Hermle based in the Swabian Alps have created a clock mechanism linked to a musical movement. Two German tunes – “Guter Mond, du gehst so stille” and “Weißt du, wie viel Sternlein stehen” – are played alternately when the 36-note musical movement made by the Swiss company Reuge is gently set in motion. Every eight days the clock and musical movement need winding with a key inserted in the clock face. The musical movement can be switched off when required, with the use of a small lever. And you can simply pull on a cord to hear the songs at any time.
